Why DirectX.com?

We registered directx.com back in the mid 90's. At that time DirectX was a new multimedia technology that Microsoft was introducing. Ron was working in DirectX and thought that it'd be a good location on the Internet. Never thought that Microsoft would later turn it into a brand.

DirectX.com is a custom software development company located outside Boston. We specialize in 3D graphics and visualization technique. Actually, we specialize in "visualization" in a more general sense, including sonification, virtual reality, and high frame rate engines. We specialize in Windows XP and Vista software for OpenGL and Direct3D, including writing custom rendering engines for specialized markets, including imaging, games, drivers, and data mining.

DirectX.com was formed by Ron Fosner in 1995, when he felt it was imminent that 3D graphics has going to rapidly reach a real level of usability in the PC marketplace. Since that time we've been riding the leading edge of consumer level 3D graphics capabilities. We freely answer questions, so if you're curious about our company, an API, or just have a general 3D graphics question, feel free to drop us an e-mail.

In addition to software consulting we also maintain the DirectX.Com web site, which began as educational site and has blossomed into an information site that contains a wealth of information on 3D graphics related information and education. If you are interested in advertising on DirectX.Com you can find more information here.
